Pucker up, ladies. Smooches abounded on the Spring ’14 runways, making their mark everywhere from shoes (Charlotte Olympia) to sunglasses (Jean-Charles de Castelbajac). Saint Laurent‘s Hedi Slimane doused an 80s-tinged ruffle top and short black wrap dress with an allover rouge lip print. Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s 1971 Vichy Chic collection, the smackers were a somewhat surprising embrace of the house’s history, and the high street (H&M: Sweaters! Zara: Scarfs!) just couldn’t wait to follow.

If mouthy accessories (anyone in risking a big lip?) are more your taste, look no further than my all time classic: a Lulu Guiness bag. Ah! I could have one in a different shade for every day. Or maybe that Diane von Fürstenberg I-phone cover? Or maybe that classic Chanel lipstick? Bright kisses (printed all over the object of your desire yourself) never run out of style. As does my shoe favorite of this month: Sule Orhan’s “Easy rider”.

As sloppy and chaotic As I can be in private, when it comes to actual business I am the most accurate person ever. I plan in advance, visualize conversations, and prepare thoroughly to make my point. So when I had my first meeting at one of the biggest publishers in the Netherlands, I was more than enthusiastic. Not only because I finally had a reason to pull out my favorite business skirt (Melanie Brown, with a lovely peplum in the back with a leather detail, oh so eloquent!) and dust off my 12 inch YSL’s which I have neglected for too long (too much working from home in sweats and socks I suppose...); I was also eager to meet the editors behind my weekly column, and ready to rant about my blogging passion.

What I didn’t plan though was how to get there, so off I drove happily on the wrong highway lane to the exact opposite side of the country. Never came to a meeting that late, that sweaty and distressed, gasping for water, and with 25 minutes left to leave a good impression. The best obviously. Well, at least skirt and heels still looked fabulous when I asked the perplexed janitor if I could take a selfie in the lobby to capture the milestone event. A total success I would say.

I wished I actually would have worn them: they still lingered in my purse when I rushed into the office...

Kristen Stewart is Wrong

Now don't think I'm in the habit of stalking 22 year old actresses, or even the slightest bit interested in Hollywood gossip (oops, can hear my Mom talking: "I thought I taught you not to lie..." damn...), but came across an actually very funny and spontaneous interview Charlize Theron and KStew did for a French TV show. They were asked kinda random questions via a robot-like monitor. One of them: "Best advice to get a job in Hollywood?" was answered by Ms. Stewart with: "We are sitting on it".

Now I believe the lady is no stranger to getting herself in trouble with these types of answers (or to just getting herself in trouble - perhaps you followed the whole cheating scandal which had millions of minors weeping themselves to sleep half the summer), but it actually made me think. I mean, everybody knows that working feminine qualities to your advantage is quite common - and why not? Supply and demand will always determine the market (and it's very probably the demand that deserves to be looked at more closely). But Kristen is wrong. The answer should be: "We are walking on it". Still believe that a healthy pair of legs (in heels of course), and a brain can get you anywhere.

Could be that I'm just trying to encourage myself (have a super important interview today) but just one thing: Kristen is a Converse fan. Hmm. You do the math.

Since having seen the movie about Diana Vreeland, am obsessed with her flamboyant allure and personality. And what better to do on a grey Sunday than dig into a world full of glitz, glam, and outstanding visions. Helps to distract from other Sunday options (aka FINALLY doing the laundry) too. Having left her mark as the first fashion editor of all time, am now studying all her covers for Harpers Bazar and Vogue - which she branded forever as mirror of fashion reflecting the Zeitgeist ("You can see the approaching revolution in clothes. You can see everything in clothes"). Loving it! Am tempted to jot down all her quotes: no, even better, print them in huge letters and hang them over bed: "You gotta have style. It helps you to get up in the morning. It's a way of life. Without it you are nobody."

And (sorry, couldn't help but replace the word "dress" with "shoe": but BOTH are so right): "A new shoe doesn't get you anywhere. It's the life you are living in the shoe and the sort of life you had lived before and what you will do in it later." And that from a lady who claimed (also VERY inspiring haha!): "I'm never dressed until lunch".

Ah, Mrs. Vreeland thank you so much for today's inspiration. Now will never again leave the house without sporting couture, ladylike gloves, satin slippers and an attitude.

Hoofddorp (a small place near Amsterdam where the cow and the cow bid each other goodnight literally), and I have never been on good terms. It started when I moved to the Netherlands and needed to get a stamp to make me a “legal citizen”: half an hour of travelling, one hour of waiting, all for nothing, because I couldn’t prove I had a job in the Netherlands. To GET a job, I was told I needed the stamp, so you can imagine the dilemma.

My next HD experience was FOR a job, trying to work there (still no stamp) at a fancy magazine. Turns out I’m better in concepting, visualizing, composing, writing, layouting and modelling all by myself rather than fumbling and cropping pre-chosen products to fit onto one page.

Last chance for Hoofddorp: checking out the Headquarters of something which finally seems to fit my 007 FP (read fancy profile): Mission Primark.

Never had the opportunity to check: until today. Phew! 3 huge shopping bags later (after one hour of fitting and half an hour standing in line at the charger), I come to the conclusion Hoofddorp is not so bad after all. Now will you employ someone still without a stamp please? Need to cover the debt of my new outfits.

Starting a new blog month is always exciting. I never know what the month will bring (heel donations to the usual address please...) and it also feels so fresh to start from scratch again, with an empty folder - no pictures saved yet... so much space for heel-licious new stories.
Today it feels even more special though. Not only because I am wearing the most beautiful YSL heels (Autumn|Winter collection available at Paul Warmer - I so wanted something really classic and enduring today) but also because it will be my last day posting in the lovely community of Tumblr.

Yep, as you can see my own website is now online: me, the girl with a passion for heels (read charmingly chaotic), will (with a little help from the fabulous Brandbridge team) finally turn professional. Which means nothing else than still stumbling in high heels and writing about it, but moving on to another platform (Am actually a little nervous, can you tell?).

Dear  loverly ladies and followers it's time to change your bookmarks (god knows how that works)....
See you you from now on, on this page!
