Pucker up, ladies. Smooches abound every spring, making their mark everywhere from shoes (Charlotte Olympia) to sunglasses (Jean-Charles de Castelbajac). Saint Laurent‘s Hedi Slimane doused an 80s-tinged ruffle top and short black wrap dress with an allover rouge lip print. Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s 1971 Vichy Chic collection, the smackers were a somewhat surprising embrace of the house’s history, and the high street (H&M: Sweaters! Zara: Scarfs!) just couldn’t wait to follow.

If mouthy accessories (anyone in risking a big lip?) are more your taste, look no further than my all time classic: a Lulu Guiness bag. Ah! I could have one in a different shade for every day. Or maybe that Diane von Fürstenberg I-phone cover? Or maybe that classic Chanel lipstick? Bright kisses (printed all over the object of your desire yourself) never run out of style. As does my shoe favorite of this month: Sule Orhan’s “Easy rider”.

Amsterdam can be a city with the character of a cat. Weather-wise that would be: really smooth and at ease but just when you think all is good - the claws come out. And I’m just saying that because I’m prepared for everything, any time (aka have my rubber boots with me for that sudden bout of rain - ALL THE TIME). But gosh, the city is beautiful when the sun is out, the claws stay in, and nature does what it does best: getting flowers to bloom wherever you go.

I mean, who would even consider staying inside, and not going shopping for some flowery dresses to flatter that mood? Who would even think of hiding in boots rather than the heels that invitingly smile at you to walk them under trees spoiling you with a shower of petals? Who could not see the beauty?

You just go there ladies. The first step in heels outside your door, with that dress too bright and short, and those heels too high to walk on grass: Spring is in the air, love everywhere!

Fashion and nature divide the year in four wonderful seasons, each equally provided with its own charm, colors and signature looks. But - let's not lie about this- repeating itself over and over again. As surely as an amen at the end of a prayer there will be subtle grey and “new” black full body condom wrap for the end of the year, and that annoyingly hot, but super short sexy gear (you already know in winter you won’t fit in) for summer.

Now that you can hear the birds chirping in the morning on your way home from the club, and flowers are not only blooming in gardens but bursting out on dresses as well (the “new” floral... guilty as charged...) I guess it’s official.

Ready to catch my first ovarian inflammation due to ditching warm boots to replacing them with peep toes too early, finally really (!) buy that anti cellulite cream (see hot summer gear) and remove every single hair on legs which were gently covered in all shades of panty hoses for the past months.
And just when I was really getting in the mood I was reminded:
You definitely know it’s spring when all the fashion people are talking autumn winter already. Hmpf.

There's nothing better than the idea that spring is just around the corner (well..... almost... OK), with the new season greeting you everywhere. I appreciate this to the max by diving into all the new arrivals that delight us with color, new textures and shapes. Almost died over Burberry's spring collection (bright metallics wherever you look), and in the event you should hear about a robbery on TV the upcoming days: that might have been me ensuring I have sufficient funds to afford that utterly beautiful bag. *sigh* Oh! And since I've become a (not very secret) stalker of Ruthie Davis' footwear, I'd totally invest that money in her heels too. In ALL of them actually.

If you prefer to act economically rather than be remote-controlled by pre-spring hormones (and still dive into fashion): I recommend watching Bill Cunningham's beautiful documentary "New York". A homage to fashion and glamour, spotted by the most humble man in fashion there is. Oldie (not you Bill!) but goodie!!! Or do as I do whenever I need to be cheered up on one of the hopefully last days of winter grey: a visit to favorite gallery - I could spend HOURS at Reflex in Amsterdam, glued to the work of Harland Miller (well, maybe robbing that bank wasn't such a bad idea after all), or visit my friend Melanie Brown's studio for a spring fashion splurge. If non of the above suits you: I bet flowers will. The tulips are out baby, bye bye January and hello new season!

Ladies, it’s the most lovely weather in Lisbon and I am in spring mood (aka wanna jump and hug trees and do like the flowers and the bees)

I don’t know whether it’s the sun, or the fact that its Lisbon fashion week, or that I have a meeting with Prada today (or shall I say my credit card probably has? :-)) or that we will eat at John Malkovich fancy restaurant tonight: everything just seems so bright!

So it’s time to show what God created for open toes and sandals: our feet.
Away with the heavy boots, the socks and the panties we have worn out throughout the past months, up we go for a fresh pedicure, pastel nail polish, the strappy pumps, the bright coloured wedges: it’s spring gals: let’s sport a light sole instead of a bad winter mood.
I say: release the sandals!

Oh wait, I just heard it’s raining in the rest of Europe? Even snowing in Vienna?
Ah… whatever. It’s the spirit that counts!

Am in utter need of bible (don't you think “Vogue” just sounds so vulgar...) for some advice on what to cherish this upcoming season. Am tired of the grey both outside (weather) and inside (me on couch in grey socks), so let's see what the fashion Gods (Miucci, Jonathan, Phoebe, Georgio, Frida and Karl) have to offer. To my delight they must all have been high on macaroons and watching “Mad Man” while getting inspired for their spring collections. Ok, Miucci the old rebel was listening to Rockabilly too, but everywhere I look I feel like Marty Mc Fly has just pushed the time button and might just skate around the corner: the fifties are back.

Almost overdosed on sticky sweetness as well watching “My Week with Marilyn”, just as innocent, charming and utterly alluring as the current Louis Vuitton campaign (hello Pastel, Candy - Candy, Pastel). Want to borrow ScarJo's hour glass figure really badly now (but will take Michelle William's bum too), be super-female, sip tea from delicate china and stop burping for good. Am sure boyfriend wouldn’t mind me dying hair blond (about time: just spotted another "grey" on head too) and singing “Happy birthday Mr. President” all day long.

Ladies, get the kitten heels and the shift skirts out: it's time for a total make over.
Spring, let me be your secretary!
