Happiness

Read in a poll recently (and I suppose most of you gorgeous ambitious ladies out there will approve...) that our super busy schedules encourage us to boast about having no time. At all. Running from one appointment to another (heels and a rush = blisters you know the story...), constantly increasing the pace of life, we take less and less time to pause and just take a minute to embrace the moment we are in. Those precious minutes, just you (and some quality heels), which we call “stolen moments” but are indeed bridges towards (how Pharrell Williams of me): Happiness.

Well, indeed it doesn’t take much. A sunny day, a beautiful peaceful place, good company and voila: you are in the middle of a song. I suggest you get your perfect companions for some soul dangling here and just take a break to enjoy wherever you are and whatever you do.

Have a super happy Monday everyone!

My Big Fat First Brazilian Wedding

My Big Fat First Brazilian Wedding

Although I knew that Brazilian weddings are huge, I had no idea what to expect when arriving at our almost last destination in Brazil: Curitiba.

On the private acres of our generous hosts (including three houses of relatives, own forest and horse stables) a tent is being built. A tent? It’s more like they're building a rock star concert stage (think Beyoncé), with a chapel built from scratch, dance floor for 800 people, buffet, bar, lounge and toilets that are bigger and more luxurious than in the Four Season's. Ah, and there is a glittery Miu Miu heel indicating the ladies room which I definitely would have snatched away (so beautiful!) had I known where the second one was hidden (it was my size!). And the party people! So glamorous and stylish I guess every red carpet would turn green with envy.

Had to plunder the mother of the bride's closet (thank you Danie, I will be forever grateful), since the flowery dress I brought suddenly didn't seem like such a good idea (patterns ladies, so NOT Brazilian wedding....) and I knew that the designer of the brides-dress (couture!) would be present personally. And yeah. That was all before I ruined my new pair of heels by dancing the night away with all the happy wedding crowd in the most beautiful setting ever. What a night to remember!

P.S.: Am still searching fot that second Miu Miu, but psssssst.... let's keep that our secret, OK?

Obessions of December

Obsessions of December

Heaven on earth is (besides my favorite heels dealer) a small place in Bavaria where I always spend Christmas with my family. And every year December is the month to prepare to go there: for the gifts - to give away, and the ones Santa might bring (aka heels, high heels, peeptoes, pumps?).

Of utter importance are also the outfits (and footwear) to shine in (neatly arranged for every day to avoid confusion due to alarming consumption of champagne). The fake lashes I plan to glue perfectly, the glittery manicure to impress with, that sparkling party dress. I never manage to actually sport any of the above because I always end up dancing wildly with the kids, still in my PJ’s, to “What the Fox says”, have a fish to fillet or a duck to unbone for the festive meal (there goes the nail polish), and who cares about the perfect blow out, or shiny dress when you can cuddle with the family in front of the fire anyway.

But yeah. December is all about that glitter (wish list) and the gold: reality. As in gratitude, modesty, and happiness. And that MUST HAVE Chanel purse of course (see above).
Have a happy end of the year everyone!

Round and About

Round and About

Have often wondered what it is that makes round shapes so magical. The perfect illusion of soft infinity perhaps (think boobs in a wonderbra or the beauty of everything with a Chanel logo: pure pleasure right?), or that dots always seem to make people happy (oh,oh, the Yayoi Kusama Polka dot collection of Louis Vuitton- definitely!)

Yes, the plate at a restaurant waiting to be topped with delicate food (round belly!), the sweet little bubbles in champagne, a glittery sequin: very (!) instant happiness. Even in wording "rounds" are fun. Surely it can't be a coincidence that one says: "am having a ball"? And in Austria we even literally say: "Ich fühl mich nicht rund" to express being out of balance. So to spice up a daily outfit with dots (my fave: the fur and the leather versions....) totally makes sense on such a bright, autumn day.

Just don't forget the most important dot on the "i" (aka accessory): a smile.
The most perfect round shape there is.
Cheers!
