Two words to best describe this month: Party and madness.

Or Madness or party. Well, Partymadness maybe?

So many birthdays to celebrate, concerts to go to, tour-busses to jump on (ok, just one: am picky :-)), and the parties, the parties! From Germany to France to Amsterdam: my heels have travelled a lot this month, causing a stir onstage and backstage, amongst animals and people alike. Feeling very much the jet-setter and celebrity spotter, I shared the backstage with Lenny Kravitz (hell yeah, breathing the same air) and had my name written on a bed in a nightliner (very aware though it might have been replaced the following night with a “Pamela” or “Nicole”:-)).

I loved partying with so many dear people, some of them from around the corner, some of them from Japan, South Africa, or the USA (who I hadn’t seen in years!).
So many stories to share, people to catch up with, so much laughter and god, the booze, the booze! Am realizing though that “the aftermath” of partying like it’s 1999 has became a lot more difficult: apparently it’s 2012 and am really not 16 anymore. But every minute of it, even the hangovers… all worth it.

Thank you all out there, for supporting me, inspiring me, spreading the (shoemanic-) word and making my world so rich and write-worthy. I can’t wait to find out what the next months will bring while running in heels and hope you will enjoy too.
Big Love,

Flight to the Cannes Advertising Festival: everybody is looking perky, energetic, full of spirit, and the plane is filled with expectant chatter.

Flying back a week later, you meet the same people: pale, raccoon eyed, utterly hung over, exhausted, and falling asleep before the captain can even say “welcome on board”. Chat of the day (after three days and what feels like a hundred parties) is not only the amazing work shown in the Palais, but more how “smashed” you actually are, and that you really REALLY will call it an early night…. tomorrow.

The Cannes virus has already taken it’s toll on everybody, but still.
One minute on the beach to think about how lucky you are to share such an amazing time with new and old acquaintances, to be invited to all these lovely parties, gossip and chit chat with a crowd that feels like one big family and look at the amazing setting you are actually in… gosh!

Next week we will all be back in our offices and back to reality, but for now (even though it’s becoming harder to embrace heels as your feet are getting puffier and puffier- blame it on the rosé 😉 - one minute to think must be enough.
The next party is calling. :-)

Letter to Mom

Dear Mom!

I am in a small fishing village in France. It’s somewhere on the French coast, but not as well-known as its big sisters Nice and St. Tropez.
Therefore it’s very calm and quiet. There are barely people, tourists or any other disturbing matters to interrupt a relaxing holiday.
I sleep well (four hours average), the food is extraordinary (mainly liquid), and the weather couldn’t be any more perfect (not that I’ve seen any sun before sunrise yet). Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, the locals have been nothing but nice to us.

Please give my regards to Uncle Dr. Schulz…. didn’t he just open a practice for emergency rescue?
He might have a new client soon.

Yours dearly

Massive Madness

Although Cannes itself is a massive and mad experience with more parties to attend than time and stamina allow, there is one event in particular that stands out and tops them all: the Massive Music party.

Showing off that you scored a ticket is more prestigious than running around with a festival pass for the whole week. But if you got lucky…… man! What&a&party!

This year they created The World’s Biggest Agency (operating just for one night), celebrating with the top of the advertising business such as “Chief Executive Bitch”, “Most Valuable Content Gimp”, “Chief Nonsense Ambassador” or “Fucking Amazing Codswallop Powder Monkey”.

Oh, and there was the world’s biggest sound system, smashing-down-the-walls-and-bursting-your-ear-drums making anyone jealous watching the spectacle from afar. And the world’s biggest copying machine (aka DJ booth) making Bill Clinton wish (rumor has it he was there) he had brought Monica.

And so much fun.
And so much wine.
And so much dancing.
So much Massive Madness that I&can’t&concentrate&nor&write&anymore&due&to&overwhelming&experience.

Thank you Massive Music for making my week on Wednesday already!

Love Affair

Oh love affair. *Sigh* Beautiful, beautiful dangerous thing.

How tempting it is to give in and forget all rules, to just let go and follow the luring call of uninhibited pleasure and ego celebration as if there were no tomorrow.

Seductive butterflies in the stomach, flying punch drunk, causing a twirl in highly sensitive belly.
No need to eat or sleep, feeling light as a feather and enlightened like Edison (or whoever the guy was who invented the light bulb and made everything look bright).
Want to jump and dance and won’t even feel the pain in ridiculously high heels (am convinced more affairs in this world would completely kill entire “PartyFeet” production).

Oh my god, need champagne.

100% sure everybody can see the glow in my eyes and read the smile on my face as it’s so obvious: am having an utter crush and an absolutely unabandonded liasion with a French city. Hello Cannes, let’s make love!

Where are my Flip Flops?

I’ve always been a fan of the “show me your purse” sites on the net.

Fashion babes from all over the world reveal the inside of a woman’s sanctuary: the content of her MiuMiu. Or Prada. Or “other”.
Mainly on display are neatly arranged mobiles, agendas, lipsticks and other beauty devices, keys and hankies.

Well, it seems that I would fall under the category “other “.
Bag is unfortunately not Prada, I would be mad to take that type of bag when packing for five days of Mayhem: Cannes.
I won’t lie to you dear readers, the content of THIS bag is more of an ultimate preparation for 5 days of leaving your brain at the last party attended.
Let’s call it a survival kit for all possible situations.
Meaning:
* Shades (essential for covering raccoon eyes)
* Camera (for covering evidence)
* Evian spray (might get hot)
* Vodka (for spontaneous party on the beach with no booze supply)
* Aquafresh mouth spray (for the reasons of vodka)
* Toothbrush and undies (for breakfast after beach party: shades are also strongly recommended)
* Band-aids (Blister danger after dancing all night long)
* Tixo (Why not?)

Having checked all the above, the only question that remains is: where the hell are my Flip Flops?
You don’t seriously think this can be survived only in heels, do you?

TickTickTick, less than 30 hours left until I’m set to hit the Croisette, looking effortlessly chique, sleek, lean, and of course: without any distracting body hair.

Sport was easy (to give up), the sunbed left me a white striped present, so today MUST be a success: I am going to have a wax.
Am actually pretty nervous: the last time I tried anything like this (totally convinced I could do it myself) I ended up with a leg full of wax and attached strips and couldn’t remove either. Am still grateful I didn’t try bikini first….

Hitting my “home” spa REIN,  Anna gives me a strange look as I jump up on the bed fully equipped with wedges, camera and a stick between my teeth so I don’t *SOL* (shouting out loud is the hysterical sister of *LOL*). Within seconds it’s clear that my thoughtful preparation was actually in vain as attempt to remove tiresome stubbles completely fails: am too groomed. Didn’t know that you have to grow a full Yeti to be able to get waxed.

Exit the spa with one red stripe (vertical) on left leg to accompany the two white stripes (both legs) from yesterday. Hope it’s snowing in Cannes so I can wear winter collection and boots.
