Weekend Pleasure

Weekend Pleasure

Am going to be TV heel-ebrity soon (guess some guys coming over with a camera equals bout of megalomania) and am perhaps beginning to panic. Have been so busy running in heels that have had no time whatsoever to take care of their home: the house. And when I moved the washing machine - by only a centimetre! (note: only do so if you really really must or are a fan of "Alien") - the other day, I was reminded that not only BF, high heels and me are living happily under one roof, but some semi-alive cultures as well (dirt, grease and dust: I never replied to your friend requests, so what the hell are you doing here?).

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, even though it's weekend and not really a pleasure to spend that precious time with an army of cleaning devices and some good intentions. Worthless anyway, because am distracted and within minutes end up doing what I actually LOVE (and what the TV thingie is all about anyway): sorting my heel closet.

Now the really important question. Do you think it's a bit over the top to actually arrange all cuties by color? Or shall I rather go from Atwood to Zanotti (aka A-Z by brand)? Might have to rearrange whole masterpiece, but wouldn't mind: my weekend pleasure!

Of course going "cold turkey" is not my thing, so sneaked in monthly overview a day later than usual to be able to wish everybody a Happy New Year. Something light to read for the hangover today, I thought.

And what a light and easy month it was too. Loved inspiring a new generation to take pictures of heels now too (see nephew, *touched*), loved that for our Ladies Night everybody brings heels without asking, even loved taking my heels everywhere and the fact that no one around me finds it odd anymore when I build a set in houses that aren't my own, abuse bath tubs or interiors that don't belong to me, or just hand camera over and direct others to photograph my precious heels of the day. On that note, must once again thank BF for his never-ever-ending patience and endless support - although do have a sneaking suspicion that whenever I said *shoe* he actually thought (Haha, fair enough) *sssssssshew*.

No more though, it's for real now: Good-bye to blogging everday, I will miss you very much. *sob*sob*. Good-bye lovely readers too, you have been a fabulous audience (and please: buy my book whenever it will be published). What am I going to be doing the next months? No idea at all. Isn't the journey more important than the destination anyway? Having said so: Enjoy the ride (in high heels of course).

Oh, and just in case you ever wondered: my boyfriend's name is Auke.

Last Ladies Night of 2012

Last Ladies Night of 2012

Think what you like of Ladies nights, but it’s a fact that girls need to spend their precious time with some like-minded souls (read boobs, shoes and hormones) every now and then. Rotating the hosting duties of our get-togethers, it has somehow become a beloved routine this year to exchange knitting patterns, hair-do's, horoscopes and listen to different types of music (fair enough – man was needed to install Spotify) with some of the finest girls in Amsterdam. And yesterday was the last gathering of this kind this year.

The evenings usually start slowly, yet loudly (as everybody wants to tell their latest news first). After flipping through pages of Elle and Vogue, (uuups) Linda and other magazines I've never even heard of (still learning), we gather for a group shot. Well, it was a nice idea to pose on the table (so "real life"), but can it hold all of us or will it break due to our weight? And hell yeah, cool attempt to fit 5 full grown women into a bath tub (oh man: behind the scenes pictures are definitely worth signing a pre-nup!). We all ended up hopping on the bed. And guess what. High heels on the side, and no one even argued.

LADIES: you so rule. But before we (no doubt) conquer the world, we seriously have to fit ourselves in one bath tub. High heels on.

If you're a heel-alista, shoe-oholic, lable-freak, size 37 (that's a size 38 with your heel cut off and a size 36 with thick socks), and reader of my blog: this is your lucky day. Even more so if you're a bitch on a budget who has always dreamt of being able to enrich your closet with some Jimmy (Choo), Marc (Jacobs) or Gucci (Gucci!) heels, but have always left your local heel dealer with a tear in your eye: because aren't they soooooooooooo expensive?

Am offering 30 pairs of precious (think "Lord of the rings" - Golom's "Preeeeeciouuuusssss") heels: some of them worn (with love), some of them brand new, for a price which will not only make your feet happy but your wallet too. Brandnew Choo's for EUR 179? Yep. Prada's for EUR 75? So right. But how???

Well, am throwing a heel-party in Amsterdam and if all the above fits any kind of your heel-personality or attitude: you are more than welcome. Simply like http://www.facebook.com/EddaLovesHeels, and share (my VIP list, and your entrance ticket) on Facebook and mark the 4th of November (1-5pm) in your agenda. 30 pairs of shoes need to GO GO GO and right in your closet.

Spread the word, and stay tuned for updates (and location) on this very blog. Am SO excited!!!!

The girls on the Third Floor

The girls on the Third Floor

My house often feels kind of like an editorial office.

Most of my shoe-magic happens here, pictures are taken in every corner possible, and the hallway usually looks like the fashion-shoot-closet of a magazine. Quickly tidied up the latter for a spontaneous girl’s night yesterday: my third floor was enriched by my Dutch girlfriends’ presence (a very welcome change to my usual “one woman show”).

And if I ever feel that what I’m making here is kind of glossy-stylie:  when four girls gather you definitely have the full content of a magazine covered, just by babbling and bubbly-ing along.

Gossip and Lifestyle-section: check (cheering, laughter, a lot of hysterical “r.e.a.l.l.y.’s???”). Beauty and Health: check (nothing better than a cream or nail polish, tested and approved by your girlfriends). Fashion issues (what to wear, styling tips, accessories): always a topic (and how happy can you make a gal by asking if she bought her dress in the children’s department). The “Real Life” -section: check (-narrated as live and true as it can be): understanding and caring nods, and a hug when needed. Not to forget “ask anything you want”, “horoscope”, “where to buy” and “shopping guide”.

Best of all though: this very editorial office eats carbs, slurps wine, and isnt afraid of making very long hours. The girls on the third floor were truly busy yesterday. Must say, one of the best editorial “meetings’ I’ve ever had!
