Fashion week usually leaves me in a delightful fashion-coma for weeks afterwards: So much beautiful fashion to digest, so many trends to take in, inhaling inspiration with every fiber of a fashion addicted mind. In between champagne (excitement) and finger food (no time to eat otherwise) the adrenalin rush during this short time of frenzy is quite high - the fashion babble, interviews, outfit changes, burning feet due to running around, picture posing, people spotting: what a great circus to be part of!

I love every minute of it and have to thank 3 exceptional designers who made this year once again red carpet worthy (and 3 special pairs of heels to not let me down during all hasty sprints from one show to another). Please find my sketchbook of all the lovely ingredients for yet another unforgettable week above. I’m still in the clouds and want to keep on pretending that it’s o.k to jump around in evening gowns during day time, turning around for photographers (even if there are none) and keep on walking like there would be a red carpet everywhere.

Cold turkey now. Duh.

The Most Beautiful Day

The Most Beautiful Day

Oh weddings, how I love you! The cherry on a relationship, sealing the love-deal (hopefully) forever, being celebrated by a huge party gathering all friends... what’s not to like? It’s the only day that it’s not ridiculous to cry like a baby all the time (especially as the bride walks down the aisle) and where waterproof mascara and a hanky will do as the perfect accessories (nothing else will fit your tiny clutch anyway).

With two of my favorite ladies getting hitched this summer (countless mail-conferences about heels and back-up flats, dresses, bridal bouquets, locations etc), I think it’s only appropriate to share some of my favorite ideas for the big day. Am actually regretting that I’m not a) Martha Stewart, being able to decorate the most beautiful wedding settings all the time, or b) Owen Wilson, or Vince Vaughn so I could attend the fabulous event (of others!!!) more often.

Just one note: it’s not considered good manners to dress more beautifully than the bride, so tone it down a bit, and never EVER sit anywhere near the wedding cake. Just saying.

Very Sex and City

Very Sex and City

Had a very SATC like experience with BFF Connie which is always ending totally ROFL.

While our boys dug into toasties and exchanged fun facts about driving vintage cars in the Mugello road race, we girls snuck off to some other vintage: Connie’s closet.

Patricia Field would probably faint upon seeing this amazing collection of old and new, and I am tempted to do just that and let myself fall into her piles of fluffy furry coats. Wouldn’t even mind getting strangled by one of her beautiful Chanel necklaces while doing so…. dying in vintage heaven: how dramatic, very movie like.
Since the movie was on (again) yesterday I am feeling very much Samantha, desperately longing for the hot neighbor (naughty ideas and all)…except in this case I’m drooling over Ferré and Salvatore Ferragamo as I’m taking today’s picture.

So, did we watch the movie than (for the 1.000th time?) Of course!
It’s a total tribute to girls’ friendship, and who could be more Sex and the City than Connie anyway? Question remains: how could Carrie EVER marry a man who tosses Manolos (even if it’s for the happy ending) away just like that?

No one put’s Manolos in a corner. Baby!
