I've always been fascinated with water, especially if it’s fermented with delicious grapes and comes in a bottle labeled 'Champagne'. And while browsing my blog archives it occurred to me that most of the top shooting locations were located near a gorgeous water environment. Welcome to my shooting special.

Totally thrown back by the marvelous settings, I started daydreaming in the middle of the winter about the rough windy beauty of Pantellaria, an island I had never heard of before. The memories of struggling in a paddle boat on lake Fuschl on a beautiful summer day and don’t get me started on the most outrageous BEST EVER journey to Brazil, with its dreamy coast line and crystal clear sea.

Everything seems so much easier when you are surrounded by that fourth element, some sun and a decent summery sandal (or wedge). Therefor I might just jump into the bath tub and pretend it’s a wild, untamed ocean. Heels on, and why not pop some champagne too. It’s water after all.

Nice Day for a White Wedding

Nice Day for a White Wedding

Boyfriend rocked the crowd of a wedding once more this weekend and I more than willingly chose the role of 'the groupie' again. Off we flew to the beautiful Pantellaria, a tiny island located on the left side of Italy’s bootie shaped landscape (can’t be a coincidence that the best heels come from Italy can it?).

Down at the beautiful Pantelleria Dream Resort, for four days it only revolved around the big event, which basically meant the wedding guests were enjoying cocktails at the most amazing locations, enjoying the stunning view at the pool, exchange experiences about their sunburns and wondering if the dresses and suits they brought would fit after the over consumption of Italian pasta (the 'no carb policy' has definitely not made its entrance to the Italian lifestyle yet, thank god!).

Nothing beats the vibe at a wedding: love, happiness, tears and dances are shared throughout all generations and you always come home with tons of new friends. In my case a pair of Givenchy's, which one of the attendees wore (and with which I totally fell in love with), and the inspiration of a new shoe brand I didn’t know yet (business card of the lovely designer is still in my lost luggage...)

So it’s ultimately clear: when I’m grown up I want to be a wedding crasher officially. In some Italian heels next time, no doubt!

Boyfriend and I are going to Brazil, and have been looking forward to this trip for months. But now that life feels so heavy due to the still unbelievable loss of our friend Steven, we don’t feel very much like anything at the moment. Yet we hear our beloved friend whispering: “You have to go, are you insane? You must enjoy every minute!”

So I find myself in the most bizar situation packing (even though I couldn’t care less about dressing up these days...), but must confess it feels therapeutic to do something stupid like piling summery dresses and pretending that matching nail polish is of utter importance. I have no idea what I’m doing, but at least fumbling with the camera, bothering about light and alignment are a distraction. Since we had no time to read anything about our destination, nor organize stuff, the only thing I know is that comforting friends await us: sun, rum, cheerful colors and more sun. And just to be stubborn I packed way too many heels too.

We are leaving with a sad heart, but we will do as Steven wanted: try to enjoy every single minute.

Am still trying to figure out why the appearance of a camera and two cute guys in your bedroom (in my case) turn a grown woman into a giggling teenager with verbal diarrhoea. No, no - it's not what you think: am talking about the long expected and highly appreciated arrival of the guys filming house and shoe closet (plus unfortunately me talking). Seems that I caught some kind of fashion-brand-Tourette's whenever I opened my mouth (Gucci! Prada! YSL!) and before I have to X-rate the whole drama myself (aka not tell anybody that it aired) here's my wishlist for editing.

Dear Ciaran!
Please don't let anybody know that I said that "everything with boobs attached has a thing for heels". It might be only me.
I would also appreciate if nobody else ever finds out that I stopped drinking expensive coffee to save money (for...well.... you take an educated guess). "Hihi" number 499 and "giggle" number 276 can be cut out too. And although I'm truly excited about fashion, retrospectively it might have been a little too dramatic to throw arms theatrically while shouting "I love fashion!" straight into the camera. Maybe you can leave that out as well? That, and all the other awkward moments that made me wish "silent film" would be on trend again. Just a thought...

Otherwise you're very welcome to change the program title from "Breakfast in bed" to "Gone is the brain".

Thank you in advance,
sincerely your shoe-aholic

If Life Gives You Lemons…

Things could be worse, I know, but being sick is a) not very original (everyone seems to be at the moment), and b) always a pain. Especially when you just got back home from a trip and are finally reunited with BF (a week apart: imagine how much we have to catch up on!) and were totally ready for action (aka normal life, aka start hunting for new heels) but *bam* none of that.

Not having written a single "Thank you" email to my friends and family, or any email to my clients who are eagerly waiting for me to pick up my pen and get to work, I am instead hanging in bed feeling miserable. Energy is so low I can barely manage to watch "The Big Lebowsky" (in GERMAN!), even pushing keys to open "heeling" site Net-a-porter seems way too much effort. *Sigh* Not my favorite I must confess, and the only good thing about today is that I've found a way to shoot parallel from above without any help (clamping camera in clothes rack does the trick).

Philosophy of the day: If life gives you lemons, make Limoncello (read: put on some nice heels, shoot them and stop whining). Perfect tip! Am in need of some vitamin C anyway.

30 Pairs of Heels need to GO GO GO!!!

If you're a heel-alista, shoe-oholic, lable-freak, size 37 (that's a size 38 with your heel cut off and a size 36 with thick socks), and reader of my blog: this is your lucky day. Even more so if you're a bitch on a budget who has always dreamt of being able to enrich your closet with some Jimmy (Choo), Marc (Jacobs) or Gucci (Gucci!) heels, but have always left your local heel dealer with a tear in your eye: because aren't they soooooooooooo expensive?

Am offering 30 pairs of precious (think "Lord of the rings" - Golom's "Preeeeeciouuuusssss") heels: some of them worn (with love), some of them brand new, for a price which will not only make your feet happy but your wallet too. Brandnew Choo's for EUR 179? Yep. Prada's for EUR 75? So right. But how???

Well, am throwing a heel-party in Amsterdam and if all the above fits any kind of your heel-personality or attitude: you are more than welcome. Simply like http://www.facebook.com/EddaLovesHeels, and share (my VIP list, and your entrance ticket) on Facebook and mark the 4th of November (1-5pm) in your agenda. 30 pairs of shoes need to GO GO GO and right in your closet.

Spread the word, and stay tuned for updates (and location) on this very blog. Am SO excited!!!!

Might be Seriously Ill

*Sniff*sniff* I hear next to me, followed by a huge *haaaaaatshiu*. Poor BF is sick, and I must confess am not feeling too perky myself either. To be honest, the only thing that got me out of bed this morning was the fact that I have a voucher for some shoe-shop that expires today. So besides dragging my cranky bones to work, I will also have to drag them (immediately feel better somehow) to do some shopping.

Hmmm, what will it be? Something with studs maybe (sooo hot right now), or rather embroidered (have totally fallen for the gold-black-combination à la McQueen). Might very well buy something comfortable and flat as well (not to be shown on this site though.... more for the incognito moments, do have a reputation to loose...).

When I arrive at the shop of voucher pleasure (what better than the idea you won't really be spending any money...) I realize I must have left "Heel Mojo" in bed with coughing BF though. Can't find a single pair that would satisfy my heel appetite and end up stocking up on accessories. Skulls sum up the mood for today pretty well anyway. Am a bit worried though. Me not buying heels? I might be seriously ill.
