Kim and Kanye, who?

The Aragonese Castle, nestled in a volcanic rock on the outer point of the island of Ischia has seen a lot in its history, but 200 party people from Brazil must definitely be a first. The medieval castle (casted as a wedding location for Kim and Kanye) was the magnificent setting for a beautiful couple to say “I do” and we rocked the ancient stones in a four-day-lasting-wedding-blast with pleasure.

Such a beautiful location to accidentally lose a heel on the steps pretending to be “you know who” and to get lost in the night mingling with the beautiful and fashionable crowd, all looking like they came straight out of an Dolce & Gabanna ad. Although of course I would never leave a Swarovsky crystallized Giuseppe Zanotti heel behind. Are you mad?

Cinderella would have been green with envy: this party didn’t stop at midnight, there was more than one Prince Charming, everyone looked Royal (Vogue Brazil didn’t cover the event for nothing) and our gorgeous friends Pedro & Tiele sparkled more than a 1000 glass slippers could ever do, sporting the most precious and priceless accessory of all time: LOVE.

Kim & Kanye who?
P.S.: Nobody turned into a pumpkin or mouse after celebrating as far as I now.

I love January for two reasons: It’s SALE everywhere and Hollywood’s Award Season officially opens:
the perfect excuse to never leave the house (except to score some cuties on SALE)
and binge your way through all the nominated films.

Spent all night yesterday watching the globes with my buds “ZA” and “NOTTI”,
had way too much popcorn and champagne and (of course) overslept mercilessly this morning,
but YESSS! - it was all worth it. Nothing better than dressing up at home for the occasion, treating yourself with a “glamicure”, having a blast judging Stars and Starlets, red carpet outfits, hair-do’s, and acceptance speeches from afar.

Sleep deprivation? So not Globes at all!

No doubt though that (besides all the gossip: I so do not wanna have what Jacqueline Bisset was having, but definitely the Louboutin’s Emma Thompson dropped at her speech...) the true winners of yesterday night were my fabulous, FABULOUS shoes. *Voice dramatically sobbing*:
“And I wanna thank Paul Warmer for their generosity, Guiseppe for always making my feet look pretty, and my patient boyfriend who snored through the night and couldn’t care less about the glitz and glam of a heelalista’s-world.
L.o.v.e. y.o.u. a.l.l.!!!!!!”

Available (and on Sale) at Paul Warmer now.

Happy Heel

Hello, my name is Beautiful. Or Gorgeous - whichever you prefer. At least that's the name I hear most often when people are looking at me. I'm from Italy where a 100 busy hands fumbled, hammered, and glued me together until I became what I am today. I liked that everyone was so dedicated to making me shine, until they tucked me *sigh* - *dark* - in a box and shipped me off to some sort of exhibition (aka fair *editors note).

Oh lord! 10.000 other beauties around me and at least 1.000 fingers pointing at me, touching me, and turning me upside down. Rude! Felt like a piece of meat, so not glamorous! Then again the box thingie, just to end up on an average rack somewhere else, with a price tag on my sole (ouch!). Am feeling lost and abandoned and cry out to everybody who comes along "PLEASE! Rescue me"!

Then one day this gal shows up. Takes one look at me and her eyes open wide, she becomes totally excited, must be love at first sight. She mumbles something like: I know you fit anyway, and *hurray* takes me home. Now am walked and marveled at almost every day, am teamed up with nice dresses, dancing on tables, and taken to fancy places where people smile a lot. Love my life! Happy Heel I am indeed.

4th Advent

4th Advent

Presents are all wrapped (how I do this every year is a shear miracle to me), High Heels are packed (no clue how I manage to pack too many every year either), it's the 4th Advent and am totally ready to head home to reunite with family. Yaaaaay! Can't wait to throw on sparkling outfit tomorrow (who will shine brighter, Christmas tree or me?) and eagerly await what Santa had in mind to make me a happy gal. Well - with wishlist already featured for 3 Advents, believe he should have gotten the general idea.

Uhmm, on second thought.... there is one thing I really need to discuss. Shockingly figured out that big-comfy-making-you-happy-man doesn't exsist! Sorry to disappoint, but Santa Claus doesn't come down the chimney. And he is definitely not wearing a red-white ensemble. The ho, ho, ho is a no, no no: "Santa Claus" drops the presents on your front door, wears the uniform of your local post officer, and he's not accompanied by reindeer, but (hopefully) a box from your favorite heel dealer.

Only if you were smart enough to order some cuties weeks ago, of course. For all those who didn't: well, Paul Warmer is open today. Just throw on something red and white yourself and fetch something cool last minute. Pffff..... aren't we a little too old for urban legends anyway?

3rd Advent

Second to last Advent Sunday and have best intentions to spend this 3rd Advent not only by lighting a candle (aka boring) but going on that outstanding shopping trip to get at least part of my presents done. I knew I wasn't the only one with that idea, but I had no idea the shops would be this insane on this particular Sunday. Isn't everybody supposed to be at home eating homemade cookies and taking my advice from yesterday?

Ok, clearly stressed feet and mind need a little rest and can't think of anything more calming than a quick pit-stop at favorite heel dealer Paul Warmer to complete my own wishlist for the big day. Only to find that their SALE has already begun, and ladies believe me: those four letters are anything but calming. There is nothing soothing about having all your favorite pairs of heels displayed for you to rescue (from other ladies). Glad I sent for my personal "taxi" to escape with one very special pair, and can only advise you to forget your wishlist (aka Santa bringing some heels) and head there yourself. Quickly. It's the third Advent after all.

Happy Meal

Happy Meal

Since I’m back in Amsterdam, the change of scenery couldn’t be more surreal. No one waking me up way too early, jumping in my bed sporting a snotty nose, no one calling in the middle of the night to get some hot cocoa. Boyfriend is not the kind of guy that interrupts my day to show me a new picture he doodled just for me (by the way.... should I be disappointed?) or that he can ride a bike without safety wheels.
No neighbours who react to my climbing in trees and taking pictures with “ooooh, that’s cute” (excuse me? Was wearing hot pants and glittery wedges, that’s FASHION not cute!), no audience that couldn’t give a hoot if I wear flats and jeans (something I’d only wear “incognito” here).
Am home and reunited with my heels, but miss my family... dearly.

Their influence is obvious though. Never have ordered a happy meal before, munching fries and sipping a milkshake (tempted to burp afterwards, but this will have to wait until I’m back home). Can’t help but smile. Heels and calories... can totally combine two utterly different worlds.

Super Powers

25|08_2012

An upcoming event got me thinking about Super Powers. No ladies, am not talking about US and the average working full time, juggling job, kids and housework, while always looking fit and well-rested (+trimmed, +well-groomed, +perfect manipedi), still having time to twitter, facebook, email, phone, plus at the end of the day - still überstylish- having a great time with friends and husband/boyfriend. Nope.

It’s about REAL superpowers: am going to see Spiderman. To make this clear to viewers of this remake of the remake of the remake, it’s called “the AMAZING” Spiderman. Just to make sure that everybody understands how great it is to squeeze body-parts into a skintight suit (red - blue: the ultimate fashion faux pax!) to contribute to the world’s well-being.
Decided to see it though as I’m curious how someone named “Garfield” would slip into the character of a spider. (Last time I saw any “Garfield” hypergymnastics were definitely not on his menu).

Peter Parker watch out. You may wear a mask to become invincible but any superwoman knows that the real power always lies in wearing a high heel. Who needs to climb walls anyway when you can manage to balance in 6 inches.
