The PC Hooftstraat in Amsterdam is to us ladies what the Museum-district is to others: A mouthwatering assembly of art pieces showing all the big masters in one place. Amongst Louis Vuitton and Chanel the shopping Walhalla added another French iconic mastermind to it’s temporary collection, and with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Carice van Houten and Charlize Theron as ambassadors, it’s a big one.

Only the most beautiful showed up to prettify the event: the runway jewellery (usually only admired in adverts): a hand whisk away, the timeless “lady dior bag”: only one reach for your credit card away (er... not really), plus the current shoe collection (sigh sigh sigh). As inspiring as the pieces of couture (think VERY gallery: just look, don’t touch, handsome man in black gloves will do that job for you) was the audience bringing a touch of French allure (aka all wrapped in Dior from perfume to collar) to my usually so down to earth city.

Nothing better to make you feel like a bit of a French cinderella (oui, oui, goodiebag!), dissolving into couture dreams while disappearing in the night, whispering: J'adore Dior.

The dutch summer this year sets me in holiday mood almost every day, (yes, yes: nature woke up from it’s six years beauty sleep and spoils us to the max), but especially when I find myself packing my bag almost every weekend heading to VPVL (aka Very Pregnant and Very Lovely) BFF’s house on a lake. I mainly appear in the same outfit (-don't tell anybody!), but this is exactly how a holiday should feel.

An indecent amount of heels (one big bag), some cut jeans and accessories (another big bag) my man and friends are all I need to unwind. Oh yeah, the occasional book I pretend to read maybe, but in the end it’s all about what will be on the grill for dinner, are we not too lazy to grab the boat for a trip, and (huge issue!) which nail polish to use.

Having said so: expect worse, because -vacation, check!- we just booked a REAL holiday in France in a couple of weeks. My brain might very well be as supple and fried as the marsh mellow I intend to grill THIS weekend. Wohooooo, blame it on the sun.

Although I’m totally tempted to dedicate today's post to Easter traditions (eggs, easter ham, and other fattening stuff, you know the game and the guilt), must confess it’s kittens that I became totally obsessed with this month. Can’t have one (the living kind) myself due to competition (guess one stubborn individual with a diva attitude and mood swings in the house - aka moi - is enough), but can’t deny feeling enormously attracted to these mysterious creatures.

I guess every gal is a (glam)kitten deep down somewhere anyway. Cat fights and the ability to get our claws out if needed (think 70% off sale and a shoe brand of your desire) is nothing new to us, right? As is it to turn an average walk into a catwalk, hips and everything - even if it’s just on the way to the bathroom. And if there's one trend that will never go out of fashion, it’s leopard print and an attitude. Purr!

From hairpieces to kitten heels: this month it’s all about the tiger in us, whether domesticated or not. I say forget the bunnies, catwomen rule the world. Happy Easter!

The concept of filming a bunch of women in their “natural habitat” has proven itself a TV hit. Whatever they may be: “Hollywood wives”, “Gooische vrouwen” or “The real Housewives of...“: they all bring fantastic ratings.

Got very inspired on the matter yesterday, when I met up with two lovely Austrian ladies at Amsterdam’s hotspot “The Harbour Club”. Very much the “Sex and the City” setting (as many Louis Vuittons parked on the patio as high heels under the table) you would go for on a Monday night out. Live lavishly - love it!

Clearly the attitude here is as big as the seafood platter we ordered (not a twin but a triplet tower...) and the expectations for the evening as high as my platforms. I so wasn’t disappointed. With the Moët flowed the stories: husbands, ex friends, love, life, the wild youth, the spicy now, the crazy to be, it seems that whenever you put three ladies (and your mother tongue) at one table, you get the best (bold and juicy) script of all, totally written by life.

One fit of laughter after the other, leaving as the last guests (time just flew): I’m totally convinced that PJSF (posh-jet-set-friend), PBF (posh-best-friend) and moi, would definitely form a great cast in the next ravishing reality production. Am looking forward to starting a second career in my forties anyway. Old and Beautiful maybe?
