Women are no doubt one of the weirdest creations on earth. Having spent time with some of the finest of this species the past week, it's time to dedicate today's post to my girls. Not even able to understand myself sometimes, it's the best to find yourself surrounded by like-minded friends. Where just a blink is conversation enough, and a certain (high heel) move can settle an enduring discussion.

Together we are the best anyway. No need to explain the "bitch mode" button we have installed, nor the "overly concerned" lever which might be triggered way too often. Understanding that our "fussy" amplitude can bounce from zero to a hundred in no time (depending on hormone status), we'll just listen and nod. Probably also open a bottle of bubbly, without saying a word.

Best: whenever not going out (kids in bed, spouses away) we jump into something comfortable, open champagne and roll over the bed giggling while trying on high heels. What's weird about that? Girls rule!

Ladies, I did it. When I hit the keys on the first of January this year to write my first blog entry, I had 366 days ahead of me (aka a HUGE blank piece of paper if you like) and no idea where the journey would lead me. My heel closet was a beloved mess, my babies all eagerly waiting to be featured and little did I know how to embed photographing and writing in my everyday routine. Realizing that I just hit the mark of writing my 300th post in a row (absolutely a reason to celebrate as this year only counts 366 days, so no more "round" numbers to cheer on): there couldn't be a better moment to pamper my feet with yet another special pair of heels. The myth, the legend, the ultimate treat: the one and only red sole there is: Louboutins.

So after 300 days (closet and blogging super strictly organized) and with my new purchase now officially consider myself a "heel" grown-up.There are certainly things you can't do anymore while wearing Loubies, right? Such as sitting any other way than with your legs neatly folded, fooling around with stupid toys for blog entry, or shaking that bottle of champagne before opening (and drinking straight out of it...): no, no! I'm a lady now! Jichaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Now where's my glass?

Why fake it when you can bake it?

Since I have locked myself in following huge shame attack in posh restaurant the other night, I have actually had time to not only check out my “jeans department” (although I can’t deny soy stains will most likely also show on trendy pastel colored ones…) but managed to re-arrange shoe closet as well.

While boyfriend is very supportive, taking pictures of the chaos and twittering that our house has pretty much become a heel-department store, I am very satisfied to find out that I still have space in my closet for: well, new heels.

Totally motivated I start searching the internet for something appropriate for a  Mother’s Day Sunday (I’m thinking Chanel, Prada, you know the average treat). Positive that a complete “bank-account-meltdown” will be inevitable, I can’t believe my eyes when I come across a website offering Louboutins and Miu Miu’s at ridiculously low prices. This is too good to be true! Unable to stop adding one after the other pair of shoes to my basket (oh La Dolce Visa!) I only find out at the check-out that the country of shipping origin is…. China.

Oh lord, I should have known. Blush at the thought of yet another “moment of shame”: getting caught in a pair of fake Louis Vuitton heels.
Well, since I was baking anyway (Mother’s Day!), I find an authentic (although not very long lasting) possibility to “feed” my heel hunger.

Why fake it when you can bake it? :-)

Today’s shoes are ao Louboutin and Miu Miu.
They were eaten immediately.

Bad weather in Amsterdam is always a good excuse to go see some art.

And there are hundreds of museums I love.

Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Armani….I have lost count of the number of rainy days I have spent in their holy places, admiring the pieces of fine design on show. Marveling (don’t touch, just look), I always leave inspired and with a new spring in my step.

My new favorite “museum” of contemporary art happens to be Azzurro. And in case you hadn’t caught on yet: of course we are talking about shoes.

Having just witnessed the arrival of the limited “Capsule Collection” with which Christian Louboutin is celebrating his 20th anniversary in fashion, it is not just me who is almost freaking out while unpacking the (also specially branded) boxes.

Carefully petting lace, silver leather and admiring the stunning craftsmanship of each piece,  I am just about to secretly lick the (oh so hot) red soles, when I overhear a staff member (twirling in front of a mirror with the hand-Swarovski-beaded evening satchel, re-enacting scenes of the mesmerizing Parisian nightlife): “I would totally have taken this one if it would be able to play French chansons too.”

Obviously, the allure of the French Cabaret has already begun to inspire…
As true art always does.

Azzurro will be paying tribute to the footwear designer extraordinaire this Saturday, transforming their fashion Valhalla into a Louboutin Bohemian paradise.
I say you had better save the date now!

During my Sunday stroll through the PC Hooftstraat (mainly frequented by the rich, the famous, label lovers, Porsche drivers and myself), I was thinking of three ‘ firsts’ in a fashionista’s fabulous life to be marked red in her calendar forever:

a) First Chanel purse
b) First Pomellato ring
c) First pair of Louboutin’s (obviously, and it’s a shame that I didn’t put them at the top of my list).
But that’s just because today is THE day!

My first pair of Louboutin’s!!!!!!!!!

They were smiling at me from the shop window of Azzurro, the perfect place for a gal in Amsterdam who isn’t afraid to make a (fashion) statement, flash a credit card (preferably your footballer husband’s) and stock up on the latest runway trends.
And today it’s me and boyfriend who are receiving Richard, Arda and Bernadette’s expert advice (the most lovely sales team ever), on how to look super chic from head to toe.
Of course the Loubies simply must be mine! Plus I need that Roberto Cavalli dress too, and of course the whole outfit would be nothing without the matching Prada satchel.

Rosy cheeks (due to excitement) I pull out my Platinum (will teach boyfriend to play football soon) and watch my bank account go as red as the soles of my new best friends.
But what the heck, it’s Sunday, and what else to do anyway than to delight the day with a teeny-weeny shopping splurge!

Despite I should be out, wearing my new pastels to cherish that it’s dry weather at least, I am in bed carrying out a virus which includes a not so dry… hmmmm let’s say “outcome”:

The stomach flu.

I got real friendly (and close) with the toilet bowl the last 24 hours,
but was told by a friend that I shouldn’t feel too much pity for myself: at least I got a present “which never stops giving”.
Ha! That made me think if such a present would actually exist.

Obviously I immediately had to think about shoes,
but it’s kind of hard to imagine myself in nine inch heels
when the only inch I move is from the bed to the bathroom.
I need something in bed, cheering me up: and there it is:
the Christian Louboutin book.
Heavy (and huge) coffee table glossy will let all my shoemaniac dreams come true, (and immediately will make you feel better).

Browsing the delicately photographed pages of every single heel Christian ever designed  (oh so divine, the entire collection is even partially coated)
I wonder if it would be considered weird to be found in PJ’s licking pages
and trying to make love to a book when boyfriend comes home.

P.S.: Todays shoes are actually socks, but when I will be on the mend….

P.P.S: Christian never comes as a cheap thrill, (actually the price of the book is a third what you would pay for his shoes… but hey: that’s why they invented amazon right?

Vienna is covered in a white, soft blanket of snow, everything is quiet and peaceful.

I am a princess (think The Frog King), and in paradise. Shoe paradise that is, and as I am a princess, of course they are Louboutin. My (frog) King is standing next to me holding a credit card even more golden than my “Bianca 140 Paillettes”, and whispers with a gentle smile: “You can have another pair too baby, if you want..."

*Bang* I wake up.
Oh, what a gorgeous dream!
But wait! I AM wearing Louboutin’s, and I AM in paradise!
The changing room of 2006FEB01 that is, the only place in Vienna where you can buy the precious red soles.

And I'm overhearing some (frog) Prince outside my "golden chamber" ordering a pair of Loubies for his lady ("something simple for the evening") like he would order a sandwich at the counter of any supermarket. COL (that's for "CRYING instead of laughing) I take a look at the price tag on my heels (aka so not affordable), determined not to leave before I have at least made love to my sparkling footwear. An hour later friendly crew of 2006FEB01 literally have to pull me out of chamber and dreamland while I'm still waving my camera shouting "I'm writing a blog, really, I will buy them one day I swear, just give me one more minute..."

*sigh*
