My 10 year old nephew is visiting Amsterdam for the first time (a promise I gave to all four of my nephews, so expect an annual live report from now on), and I find myself in places I never experienced before, doing things I’d actually swore I'd never do.

Exchanged my Gucci, Prada, and vintage boutique city route to explore the Nemo museum (know how my left & right brain works right now - aka learned it’s the left one (logic) shutting down every time when it comes to buying shoes), climbed pirate-ships and dunes and visited the torture museum.

The last one actually made me think: all those medieval spikes and pricks to torture the poor victims until they confessed whatever... it would have been so easy to make them walk through a city all day long in 10 inches, carrying a “Pausenbrot”, 1 liter of fizzy drink, some exchange clothes, a kid’s kite, spare crocs(!), a set of ball game (Botscher), Asterix books and some other stuff kids need on an average day. Well, I guess it’s no pain no gain. And I might very well have my own torture museum (aka shoe closet) at home. Middle ages: you just got an upgrade.

Even they look like torture, they actually walk like heaven (for five minutes in a fancy restaurant then)

Today's picture was taken by my lovely sister in the Torture Museum Amsterdam (which btw is the worst designed museum I've ever been to)

Spending most of the month indoors definitely has its advantages. Loads of time to daydream about new heels, and not going outside ruining them due to the never-ending soaking (or sucking, you choose) weather conditions. Perfect also for tucking into uplifting literature (my cousin gave me the most amazing book which will help moi emerge from hibernation as sleek and lean beauty goddess). Not that I haven't done any exercise yet, but hello: spiritual preparation will do half of the trick and otherwise: statement jewellery (see above) always distracts and keeps eyes away from anything wobbly beneath your neck.

Have also been very busy preparing for the Oscars (if you haven't already, please go see "Amour" and "Beasts of the Southern Wild", both utterly touching), and ditched champagne for once, replacing it with tea (am obsessed now, carrying little Pickwick bags in my pocket everywhere, call me tea-oholic).

And since the weather is nothing but grey it seemed quite logical to develope an utter crush on the black and white Spring/Summer trend (my favorites: stripes and graphic patterns). The latter might also totally help (conceal, conceal, conceal!) if I stay the lazy bum I have been and don't loose that stone I actually intended to. Ah, who cares: as long as my shoe size doesn't increase as well and I can still fit into those beautiful Jil Sander boots, I will be a happy gal. Cheerio!

I put “Best editor I could ever wish for” through quite a lot. Not only am I late with my text almost every day, I might also change it a 100 times, send hysterical text message about it afterwards, and worst: diss her UGGS  officially in posts (must say this very one was not about HER Uggs specifically though…..).
Totally got it: she deserved a holiday. She told me she’d be away for two weeks. Two weeks! How could me and my spelling possibly survive without her?
But here it is, why you have to understand she’s the best editor I could ever wish for: even while strawling the streets and art scene of Berlin, she managed to correct my attempt to win the Pulitzer every single day. That, and send me excited text messages about buying her first pair of Sergio Rossi boots (almost died so proud).

Being away, she totally missed our half year blog-anniversary, which I had planned to celebrate with the two of us: big time. It’s only because my mom also reads the blog that I am sitting in one of Amsterdam’s most fancy restaurants (uninhibited dancing on bar later is not excluded) where I intend to spoil my better (blog-) half - belatedly but tonight. Girls’ night out, limitless champagne, personal driver, accompanied by Sergio and Camilla: can’t wait!

But pssssssssst! Don’t tell editor…..it’s all about the surprise!

Morning hours are not my thing. As in absolutely not, exclamation mark! Even after a full 8 hour beauty sleep I manage to either oversleep or run late (wherever I have to go). My bedtime routine consists of figuring out how to get up in time, setting three alarm clocks (one after the other, none within arm’s reach…). But no matter how early I have to jump out of bed to shut down beeping, ringing and humming devices: it never works. It’s very annoying and believe me: not fashionable at all (who came up with that phrase anyway?).

Bad dressing choices are made due to running out of time, sweaty, Louboutin-red  face is sported to early meetings because of hectic running and don’t even get me started about the grim facial expression worth a 100 Botox injections (and that’s for the bad conscience).

I wonder how the hell all the other ladies do it?

Secretly I expect they have already worked out my latest trick to get up bright and 100 percent positive: by displaying favorite (hottest and newest) pair of heels next to bed. This works as an instant eye-opener (think rise and heel, making you jump out of PJs in no time, wanting to put those babies on NOW!). Might possibly forget to shower due to heel-excitement the upcoming days. But that’s another story and will be told another time…

There are a lot of things I’m really bad at. In fact: I completely suck at.

After baking, singing is one of them (believe me: you never EVER wanna hear that…). Remembering names of people I met, and being on time for people I know is another. And I can’t tell jokes, because I always forget the point half ways.

What I am really good at is EATING cake, judge singing competition programs on TV, always finding my way home (no matter how much I drank) and last but most importantly: order shoes online.

I mean, I am a f****ing addict, hello? :-)I can spend hours to hunt down pray, my bookmarks are all shoe shops and brands only and polyvore and shopstyle are my best friends.

I’m so excited: I did it again!

Butterflies in my stomach when I saw them.
Hysterical laughter when I saw the price.
Flattering nerves when I checked my bank account (everything not in red is good).
Guilty feelings when I told my boyfriend.
Anxiety waiting, counting the days to the delivery.
Almost orgastic feelings when I unpacked the box.And here they are!!!!!!!!!
My first Camilla Skovgaard’s.
I wanted some for so long, and I was chasing them all around the world, and now they are for real!
Oooooh, look at the soft metallic leather (butter really), the sole is INSANELY cool, and the heel is just sooooo sexy! And you walking in them like if you would be walking on clouds.

And. They. Are. TOO. BIG!

It was the last pair!!!!!!!!!!!
No words.
Will go griefing for a week.
Camilla, if you read this: I have a size 37 (UK 4,5, US 7)xxx
