Am a Cheat

Had to promise BF to stop posting every day, as I neglected all other important things for a whole year. Totally get it, it's tough when your girlfriend is not only wearing high heels all the time, but also talking (probably even in her sleep), thinking about them 24|7 (aka answering all basic questions with shoe designers from A-Z, all meaning "am too busy, sorry!") and spending remaining time behind camera, laptop, or shoe boxes.

Am very aware that social and private life have suffered from "high-heeling", but luckily this is all going to change. Will have plenty of time from now on to not only make love to favorite shoes or pictures of shoes, but boyfriend himself as well. Might very well use all sets which I actually prepared for shoots: on the bed, on the floor, in a towel by the door, in the tub, in the car, up against the mini bar, in the pool, on a duvet and the abudantly set buffet, on a plane, on a horse and the balcony of course, in the park, on a chair, basically everywhere.

YES!!!!!!!!! It's such a good thing that I stopped blogging indeed.
And having said so: turns out am a little bit of a cheat. Damn it.

First Step Towards Autumn

First Step Towards Autumn

Rather than all these hints mama nature is already dropping (getting her brush out to colour leaves, forgetting to switch of the tab so we're stuck with endless rain, and covering earth with the black "good-night-blanket" earlier and earlier each day), it's my inner clock which is set on alarm these days.

When I voluntarily grab wooly jumpers instead of silk dresses and start looking for booties rather than peep toes (which I still haven't worn during summer), it's about time.
Time to stock up on candles and instant soups for cosy (early) evenings, to start fiddling in drawers to pull out the one remaining pantyhose (last worn in April) and to switch from enjoying white wine to heavy red. Time to reset not only the clock, but last summer sale buys (good bye chiffon glory), and most importantly: be prepared to wear rubber boots more often.

Yes ladies, we are heading towards winter, first step towards autumn has just been made.

Baptizing Summer

Baptizing summer

Wohoooo, it’s weekend, and can you believe it? The sun is shining, and it’s finally warm (ish - jumper still recommended against wind and when sun has gone down).

But still! Am far from complaining and ready to totally embrace the luxury of some neurotransmitters (aka Serotonin for those who thought that’s a shoe brand).
Yeah, it’s time to get the peep toes out and follow the pedicure instructions on your favorite style guide page (as described yesterday, you will find lots during this time of year, sun or no sun...). And yeah again, it’s also time to get your abandoned summery dresses out of the closet (remove spiderwebs before wearing!) and in my case: head for the beach.

Can you believe it (part two): it’s the first time this year that I actually went there! Had completely forgotten about the possibility of enjoying the Dutch seaside and how lovely it is to just hang out there and chill and enjoy the scenery. My heels? Wore them for two seconds. It’s the beach baby, and that means dress code “shoes off”.

Not for the official ceremony though (since no one has ever asked me to perform one for a ship, I have to come up with my own), baptizing summer in the name of sunshine, blue skies, leasure life, bubbly, and good moods.
Cheerio!

Piece of cake

You probably all know those days when everything just seems off from the start. Having found yourself unwillingly (but nonetheless emotionally) sucked in by TV shows such as "The Voice of Holland" the night before, your morning can't be anything but doomed. While making dough for our annual belated Xmas dinner (egg shells piling next to the empty Ben&Jerry tubs consumed 24 hours ago - one liter? Me? By myself? Really?) find myself not at all in the mood for sweet things. I only know one dear fellow (besides my heels) who can cheer me up. Stereo on high volume, rhyme along to Paolo Nutini:

“Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right,
I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and will forget about whining,
and start smiling,
Oh, my baking honey,
just so sucks big time,
But shortly me and my heels will shine,
And I’m running late,
But I don’t need an excuse,
‘cause I’m wearing my brand new shoes."

Ola, all piece of cake!
